Do you practice mental toughness?
Mental toughness is defined as mental strength and resilience practice by athletes when they are in stressful and or high pressure situations. Being able to practice mental toughness helps athletes stay on top of their game and are able to perform well through difficult circumstances.
There are 4Cs of mental toughness in sport:
Confidence (in ability), Control (of situations), Commitment (to the process) and Challenge (drive and adaptability)
These 4 all play a huge role in how mentally tough an athlete is and can be within their sport in order to progress and prosper. Level of mental toughness is telling in how athletes process failures, pressure and mistakes. Let me know if you'd like to talk through how this impacts upon your squash next time you're in the club!
