Supplemental

Our training methodology emphasizes rigor, routine, and group training - key elements we felt were missing in squash development. We believe that supplementing this training with lessons, competition and tournament coaching is essential for your child to achieve high competitive outcomes!

1

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are a highly effective way to accelerate development through individualized attention. Lessons are usually 30 mins, 45 mins, or on occasion 60 mins in duration. These lessons focus on the player’s unique profile - covering technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects—and connect their current stage of learning to the broader program curriculum. The goal of our lesson curriculum is to teach and guide players, ideally positioning them to practice and gain repetitions. Our methodology views lessons as teaching moments rather than training sessions.

2

TOURNAMENT COACHING

Tournament coaching provides players with timely tactical and strategic guidance to maximize their performance and tournament outcomes. We recommend that juniors compete in at least one tournament every 4-6 weeks, aiming for 10-12 tournaments throughout the calendar year. This not only allows players to assess their progress over time but also provides a tangible target to optimize training for maximum gains. For SILVER and BRONZE tournaments, as well as non-local GOLDs, we provide tournament coaching via Zoom or FaceTime. For JCTs, local GOLDs, the US OPEN, and GOLD & SILVER/BRONZE Nationals, our coaches travel to the tournament venue to offer in-person coaching. We strongly encourage players to take full advantage of tournament coaching opportunities, particularly at the higher tier levels.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING FOR SQUASH

Our personalized strength and conditioning (S&C) sessions are one of the most effective ways to enhance squash performance. Each 45-minute session is tailored to the athlete’s physical profile, current needs, and long-term goals—delivering focused, one-on-one coaching that makes a real difference on court.

Step 1: Fitness Testing

Before training begins, we start with a comprehensive 11-point assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth.

  •  Speed

  •  Endurance

  •  Flexibility

  •  Mobility, strength, agility & more

  •  Supervised by a certified S&C coach

  •  Includes a personalized training report

Know where you stand. Know how to improve.

Step 2: Individualized S&C Programming

After testing, each session targets the key physical qualities required for squash—mobility, core strength, speed, agility, and endurance—always within the context of game-specific demands.

We connect each athlete’s current capabilities to their competitive goals. Our approach emphasizes education and body awareness. These sessions are more than workouts—they’re learning experiences that empower players to train smarter, recover better, and build lasting athleticism for squash success.
