Our Rehearsal Tournament Series wrapped up in style this past Saturday with the aptly titled "Pre-Memorial Day Rehearsal Tournament" — a high-energy, hard-fought, and thoroughly fun finale to a fantastic RT season!
For those of you new to the Squash Tigers world, as background, Rehearsal Tournaments are:
“ … in-house events conducted at SQUASHTIGERS! For the 2024-25 season (Sep 2024 thru May 2025), the Rehearsal Tournament Series comprises 9 tournament events. The Rehearsal Tournament Circuit attracts entries from top juniors. It also provides a great home for beginners to gain rehearsal before they step out into the US Squash ranking world. Players play a minimum of three matches on a Saturday, commencing first thing and concluding early afternoon. The event does not count towards rating or ranking, so players may be relaxed enough to develop their games in a friendly environment, yet serious enough so that they will be ready for the wider world when they get out there!
Three divisions battled it out, with our Premier Division once again anchored by Coach Michael, and our youngest U11 stars bringing their trademark mix of effort, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles. As always, the hallmarks of the RT Series were on full display: sharp squash, great energy, and an unmistakable Squash Tigers spirit. 📸 For the full photo highlights, head over to our Facebook page!
In the Premier Division, Coach Michael took the title, overcoming Humzah in the final. Huge credit to Humzah, who's been grinding all spring in prep for his upcoming season at Wesleyan — a big push for a roster spot awaits! And for the first time in a long time, three girls in the Premier draw — cue Coach Claire’s happy dance! Shoutout to Alison, Katherine, and Sara for their strong showings and excellent seasons.
D1 brought the drama, with Riyanshi collecting more hardware and Dennis bouncing back from qualifiers to reach the final. Yaseen and Abigail rounded out the podium, and rising star Avi took fifth — an impressive leap for someone new to the game! He and Sahana continue to prove that hard work really does pay off.
D2 was packed with some of our fastest climbers. Ethan claimed top spot, with Yashil and Evan close behind. Special kudos to Princeton, Lily, Leo, and Yashil for their rapid progress — Premier Division, you're on notice! 😄
Big thanks to Coach Claire for once again running the show with grace, grit, and those perfectly calibrated draws. We see the magic behind the scenes, even when it looks seamless.
Great job to all players, parents, and coaches — see you back on court soon! 🐅
