Hi Tigers Family,
Firstly, a big congratulations to all of our players on an excellent few weeks of competition. From the Gold Nationals through to the Silver and Bronze events, the level of effort, composure, and progress across the group was outstanding. If you missed our social highlights, you can catch up here and here.
We will have limited in-person and Zoom coaching available for this weekend’s Specter Center Gold event. If you have not already arranged coaching support, please contact your coach as soon as possible so we can coordinate.
On April 11 we will host our next Rehearsal Tournament at the club. These remain a key part of the pathway and a valuable opportunity to compete in a structured, supportive setting. You can enter by email.
For our newer players, and for families with friends considering getting started, we are excited to introduce our Cubs program. This beginner pathway runs Tuesday and Thursday evenings along with Saturday sessions, and is designed to take players from their first steps in the game through to readiness for squads and competition. The program has been devised by our director Mazen and reflects the same foundational approach used in Egypt to build strong, confident players from the outset. If you know families who are squash curious, this is an ideal entry point.
Additionally, we are also pleased to share a unique opportunity this summer. For the first time, we will be taking a group of players to Egypt to train in the current world capital of squash. Led by Coach Mazen, players will train at Wadi Degla Club before traveling to Germany to compete in the European Junior Open. If you would like further details, please contact Mazen directly.
Looking ahead, the regular programming schedule will continue through the Super JCT in June. Our summer camps will begin on June 22 and run for 11 weeks. We are planning a number of visiting college coaches and professional players across the summer, with more information to follow shortly. In the meantime, please reply to this email if you would like specific details.
As always, if you have any questions or would like guidance on the right plan, just ask!
See you on court,
The Squash Tigers Team
