Dynamic Warm ups

At Tigers every training session begins with a dynamic warm up.

A dynamic warm-up is essential for junior squash players, not just to prevent injury, but to prepare the body and mind for high-performance movement. Unlike static stretching, which can leave muscles cold and unprepared, a dynamic warm-up increases blood flow, activates key muscle groups, and mimics the specific movements players will use on court.

For squash, that means focusing on agility, lunges, rotational movements, and explosive footwork.

Equally important, a good warm-up helps junior players mentally shift into competition or training mode. It creates focus, builds rhythm, and reinforces routines that can be repeated during tournaments to calm nerves and stay locked in.

At Squash Tigers, we treat the dynamic warm-up as a non-negotiable — a skill in itself that young athletes need to learn and own. By building this habit early, players not only reduce their risk of injury, but also improve their movement quality, reaction time, and consistency on court. A smart warm-up isn’t a box to check, it’s a key to playing better squash from the very first rally.
