WEEKEND RECAP: Tigers Everywhere, Hardware in Hand 🐅

Another big weekend in the books for the Squash Tigers—this time spread across Philly and Pingry, where our athletes put in serious work and walked away with medals, milestones, and some major momentum. Let’s start with Philly, where the Specter Center hosted back-to-back Golds. This one? One of our most successful this season.

In the GU19, we had an all-Tiger final with Claire and Lily facing off. It was a high-level four-game battle, with Claire edging it and Lily showing off her signature grit and court coverage. Both girls rolled through tough draws like pros. And a quick shoutout to Jasmine—long-time friend of the program—for making the semis. Big stuff.

U17s were electric. Yidrew, recently aged up, looked right at home, slicing through the draw and earning a spot in the final. Didn’t take the title, but his composure and shot-making were next level. Madeleine also made the final—her second in two weekends—after knocking out higher seeds left and right. Add in the fact that today’s her birthday and, yeah… not a bad couple of weeks. Happy birthday, Madeleine!

BU13 saw Evan make his second semi-final in two weeks—talk about consistency. Meanwhile, Ronnie cleaned up the 5th place draw with a thrilling final win that had everyone courtside grinning and gasping. What a way to finish.

GU11? Riyanshi secured silver with a mature performance and a couple of big rating upsets. She’s 9. Let that sink in. She’s nine and already volleying like an U13... :) The future’s bright.

Well done to Sara, Jayden and Dev for playing tough in their respective draws. They will all be better for the hard fought matches and best wishes to Eric in getting over his injury, always frustrating for any player!

Over at Pingry, it was Silver-level competition, but Gold-level effort. Neal and Jesse both powered into the BU15 semis, while Julian hit the quarters and finished 6th after some tight battles. Riya held her own in a tough GU17 draw, Dennis stepped up to Silver play, and Aksh made his US Squash debut—great to see new Tigers on the court!

Back at the club there is plenty of squash to be played! We have our final Rehearsal Tournament of the year in two weeks, a bundle of Silvers on the horizon and the first ever June JCT just five weeks away!
