UVA hosted its annual Summer Gold this past weekend in the salubrious enclave that is the McArthur Squash Center at the catchily titled Boar’s Head Sports Club. A lovely facility, even if it raises the etymological concerns over the links to wild swine.
When the dust settled there were no wild swine to be seen, but three Tigers in the top 4 of their respective divisions and overall eight in the top ten up and down the age groups! Well done everyone!
Headlines were led by Meredith who made the final of the GU15, Chloe a semi in the GU13 and Yidrew who came 3rd in the BU15! An awesome trifecta if there ever was one!
Top ten finishers included Chloe (2) and Lilianna (10) in the GU13. Meredith (2) in the GU15 and Anika (10) in the GU19. Leo (6) and Yiden (9) were our standouts in the BU13 with Yidrew (3) in the BU15 and Eric (8) in the BU17.
Some additional great performances came from Siddhi in the GU13 who acquitted herself well. Mimi played up in the GU15 and was respectable in an 11/12 finish. Angela in her first event for a minute enjoyed a 13th place in the GU17 and Dev managed some solid W’s in a Gold, finishing 14 in the BU13.
