Spring Forward - Rehearsal Tournament Reportage!

Our third Rehearsal Tournament of the year was appropriately named "The Spring Forward RT" as a reminder to the (hopefully) coming sunny weather, the high energy of the day and the fact that the clocks move forward TONIGHT!

Four divisions were contested, with our Premier Division boasting an elite crew led by Coach Michael as part of their preparation for Gold Nationals next weekend - right through to D4 and our U11 crew learning, laughing and striving at the start of their journey! As always, both the skill and the positive vibes that characterize our Rehearsal Tournament Series was well in evidence!  For the photo dump, check out our Facebook Page!

For those of you new to the Squash Tigers world, as background, Rehearsal Tournaments are:

“ … in-house events conducted at SQUASHTIGERS!  For the 2024-25 season (Sep 2024 thru May 2025), the Rehearsal Tournament Series comprises 9 tournament events. The Rehearsal Tournament Circuit attracts entries from top juniors. It also provides a great home for beginners to gain rehearsal before they step out into the US Squash ranking world. Players play a minimum of three matches on a Saturday, commencing first thing and concluding early afternoon. The event does not count towards rating or ranking, so players may be relaxed enough to develop their games in a friendly environment, yet serious enough so that they will be ready for the wider world when they get out there!

Premier Division saw some top calibre squash, with Coach Michael leading the way to assist Parth, Alex and Eric to prepare for their Gold Nationals campaign next week. Dhruv rounded out the bracket, having played a solid match with Dev in his qualifying match.

D1 saw Dev bounce back from his 3/1 defeat Dhruv in qualifying to win through an enthusiastic field. Joining Dev on the podium were Jesse and Katherine - all of them looking in good form before their Silver Nationals campaigns in two weeks. Shout out to Riya on her fourth place and we had Riyanshi and Zeeshan doing good work and getting some valuable match experience.

Division 2 saw Abigail, Matteo, Aksh and Sahana fighting for top spot. With a bevy of 3/2 matches the division was well contested by some of our least experienced players with our youngest emerging victorious! Shoutout to Abigail, not only for her D2 win, but for her resilience in bouncing back from her qualifying loss to Miss Riyanshi - character building work!

Division 3 was filled with some of our favorite U11's, and our most hard fought matches of the day with very few 3/0 victories!  When the dust settled, Ethan won out, with Evan and Yashil the other medal winners. Shout outs to Vrinda and Princeton who also made up the bracket and are getting better each and every single week!

Overall a day that had something for everyone, from the professional skills of Coach Michael , the athleticism of our gold Nationals crew, right through to our U11's and their contageous enthusiasm. On behalf of coaches, players and parents, thank you as always to Coach Claire for her masterful construction of draws and kind leadership as Tournament Director - it ain't easy some weekends and Coach always makes it a smooth ride!

Heads up to our Rehearsal Tournament crew that our next event is a month away, and assuming all goes to plan, will be in our Exton club! Stay tuned for confirmation on location, but PA is the goal! For our regular Squash Tiger crew, see you at training - our Gold Nationals Preparation week incoming!
