EA Gold - reportage!

Updated: 4 days ago

Episcopal Academy hosted the first of two consecutive Golds in Philadelphia this past weekend.  Seven Squash Tigers made quarter finals, with one semi and three more into the final!  What a weekend!

The girls led the way this time and congratulations to Madeleine on winning the GU17 and Alison on making the final of the GU13.  Madeleine had a series of huge rating upsets and Alison did awesomely well to back up her excellent performances in last week's CT Gold.

To the BU19 and congratulations to Arman on his final inside a month, having won the MA Gold at the end of March.  Arman waltzed through the draw relatively unencumbered and lost a tough five gamer in the final.  All in all, the two events have been a solid reward for the hard work he has put into his game this Spring.  Impressive though that was, perhaps the most impressive win came from Edward winning his way to the quarters with a huge rating upset in the second round - achieved in a monster five game marathon!  Well done to both boys.

Shout outs to Evan in the BU13 making a great semi-final in what was a high standard draw.  Similarly well done to Riyanshi in the GU11 on her 5th place and Mimi on her quarter final in the GU15.  All in all a weekend to bring smiles to everyone’s faces!

Next stop is the Pingry Silver and another Philly Gold next weekend.  We have a variety of in person and Zoom coaching happening, so be sure to check in with Coach Claire for details and don’t forget if you’re not in either event that training always runs!
